Hi, my name is Tracy. I am a Fibromyalgia sufferer. I was formally diagnosed by my general doctor in February of 2007. After a long road of testing, I was diagnosed. I endured saliva, stool and blood tests to rule out any other diseases. After all, Fibromyalgia is a disease of exclusion. The doctors must rule out other diseases, like thyroid disease, arthritis, lupus or even lyme disease. I got a second opinion from a specialist who worked with Fibromyalgia patients. He came and spoke at a support group I attended.
More awareness needs to be brought to the forefront. The public needs to be made aware of the illness and what patients endure. It is a painful disease that can cripple patients and render them helpless. My goal with this blog is to share my life experiences with this disease.
The community of Fibromyalgia patients have some new medications that have been brought about as a result of the awareness of the disease. I would like to work with the local government in raising awareness with in our community.
